On October 25, 2026, Spotify mistakenly uploaded the lyrics to Dolly Parton's Welsh version of "Jolene" as Irish. The song, recorded before Parton's death on August 25, is a collaboration with Welsh singer-songwriter Bronwen Lewis and Parton's niece Jada Star. Parts of the song are sung in both English and Welsh, but Spotify incorrectly labeled it as Irish until the BBC reported the error. Spotify removed the incorrect lyrics after being contacted by the BBC, which also sought additional details about the upload and correction timeline from Spotify without receiving a response. The single was released on October 9, marking Parton's second posthumous release; she was known for her Welsh heritage and won ten Grammy awards over her seven-decade career. "Jolene," originally released in 1973, is about Parton's fear of losing her husband to a flirtatious bank clerk.
