Department store chain Myer has reportedly ended work from home (WFH) arrangements for its corporate employees, requiring them to return to the office five days a week starting in 2027. This decision follows rumors initially reported by The Aussie Corporate and later confirmed through an all-staff meeting held early October this year. Myer will move into a new headquarters at Dorcas St, South Melbourne, in November, alongside staff from recently acquired Apparel Brands such as Just Jeans, Portmans, Dotti, Jay Jays, and Jacqui E. The building will house over 1,000 employees but is expected to implement flexible working spaces with hot desking rather than assigned desks. While some exceptions are reportedly being made for those living far away or dealing with health issues, the change has been described as "shocking" by affected staff members.
Myer could, however, be forced to backflip on the mandate if Victoria's WFH laws pass.
