Ghulam Mustafa, arrested on Friday by Lahore police for torturing a female scooty rider on Mozang Link Road, was granted bail on Saturday. The incident, captured on CCTV and aired on social media, showed Mustafa overtaking the woman's scooter, blocking her path, and brutally assaulting her in front of several passersby who did not intervene. She suffered facial injuries including a nasal bone fracture and had her laptop, valued at Rs90,000, thrown to the ground. Police used data from dozens of Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) cameras to track down Mustafa. Despite police requesting judicial remand for him, a magistrate released him on bail with a surety bond of Rs100,000. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif expressed her displeasure over the decision on X, calling it "sad."
