In the first phase of the CAD$15 million philanthropic commitment, BlackRock Future Builders will support the Iron Workers District Council of Western Canada (“Iron Workers International Canadian Office”), a regional non-profit and part of the International Association of Bridge, Structural, Ornamental and Reinforcing Iron Workers.

A portion of the commitment will support the Iron Workers International Canadian Office’s direct entry pre-apprenticeship training program, Gladiator, expand its advanced welding training and certification program, and help establish national training capacity in mass timber.

Over the three-year commitment period, this initial grant is expected to support nearly 3,000 participants across Ontario, Alberta, Quebec and Atlantic Canada.
