No. 22 Iowa, ranked 22nd nationally, is set to begin its Big Ten play with a challenging slate of games. Head coach Kirk Ferentz, who became the winningest coach in Big Ten history last season, will look to lead his team to success despite losing several players to the NFL draft. The Hawkeyes' first three conference games are against Michigan, at home against Ohio State, and at Washington. Iowa has some key strengths, including a deep running back group led by Kamari Moulton, who rushed for 878 yards last season. The team also returns tight end DJ Vonnahme, who caught 29 passes for 434 yards and three touchdowns. Despite these positives, the Hawkeyes have significant holes to fill after losing seven players to the draft. Ferentz has expressed confidence in his team's ability to win eight or nine games and reach a 13th consecutive bowl game.
