Oscar-winning actress Dame Judi Dench, at age 91, revealed on BBC Radio 4's Today programme that she can no longer act due to worsening eye condition age-related macular degeneration (AMD), which was diagnosed in 2012. She stated, "I can't be on stage. I can't do a play anymore. I can't do a film anymore. I can't read anymore." The condition has made it difficult for her to recognize faces and led to awkward social encounters where she mistakenly hugs the wrong people before realizing her mistake. Dench's career spans over seven decades, during which she has starred in numerous films and stage productions.
